Or ... your host goes bankrupt and you find out he owned that "free" web site you took advantage of. Sadly it happens all the time. These rules of thumb will serve you well:

1. Never register your domain with your host

2. Never take up the offer of a free web site

3. Never host your domain with the same company that registered the domain for you

In general register a .com unless you know of specific reasons why not to. There are very few circumstances where .a co.za domain name will have any benefit to you whatsoever.

Try hard not to use the same host for different web sites (this is a critical point and we reveal the exact reasons for this to our customers in the report). This mistake has cost us many $'000s!
